Diamond 2
Fockers @ Highland Chargers
Another tight game in the bottom half with everything tied and to play for after the 4th inning. Defence for both teams started clicking from the third inning on with only 4 runs being scored between both teams. Unfortunately for the Fockers 3 of those went to the Chargers in the top of the 6th, sealing their fate with another loss. Having won both previous games the Fockers now need to win every game left and hope that either the AJs (rec) or Rocks can take another one off of the Chargers. AJs have already managed it and the Rocks beat them this weeks so the orchestra is warming up but the conductor is still looking at his notes.
MVPs for the Fockers were Anna (for hitting and defence) and Stoney (for a stupendous catch in the outfield to save several runs)
MVPs for the Chargers were Jenny (for solid defence and many hard hit balls) and Chris Cox (for a prestigious display of power)
Next up? Fockers are at home to the Rocks and the Highland Chargers are at home to AJs (rec).

Fockers @ Highland Chargers
This was a very close match to end the first half of the season between two teams that have had very close matches over the years. It featured some excellent defence by the Chargers and good defence from the Fockers with their couple of small errors making a large difference. The Chargers got in front on the first and just kept there but either team could have been 1 big inning from the win. Unfortunately for the Fockers this was not to be and the 7 inning game was done within an hour.
MVPs for the Fockers were Novalia (for excellent defence at 2) and Alan (for providing almost 1/2 of the Fockers runs scored).
MVPs for the Highland Chargers were Jenny (for all round defence and offence) and Scott (for his rally killing catch at 3).

Pimpin’ @ Fockers
In what was always going to be a tough game for the Fockers against the undefeated Pimpin, the Fockers made a respectable game of it. Pimpin’ didn’t ever appear to be in any danger, with some excellent defence throughout and the ability to add runs every inning except one. In contrast, the Focker’s bats did not really get going until the 6th inning, when it was too little too late. Still a 7 inning game with a loss by only 9 runs was better than they thought.
MVPs for Pimpin’ were Jen P (for solid hitting and defence in the outfield) and Keith (for the same).
MVPs for the Fockers were Sara (for her defence on 2) and Russell (For some outstanding plays at shortstop and solidd offence).
Next up? Fockers take on the Highland Chargers for what is likely to be important for placing within the bottom half at the end of the season and Pimpin’ play against AJs (Comp).
